If anyone, even a soothsayer, had told Lagosians that the hardship rocking the country currently would be the solution to a problem they have been facing for decades, they would have called such a person a liar.
But, right before their very eyes, this problem is slowly fading away.
That problem is traffic.
Indeed, there is no one who has not heard about the famous Lagos traffic.
Talks of the Lagos traffic have even gone beyond the shores of the country becoming a major threat to visitors and potential investors.
However, in a twinkle of an eye, the T-Pain era came, and the Lagos traffic is soon to become a thing of the past.
True, due to the rush in the city, not many people have noticed this decline in the traffic.
Well, we did notice, and whether or not it is intentional, the endpoint is, that it has been achieved.
Lagos Traffic
This decline in traffic can only be blamed on one thing, petrol.
Now, many Lagosians prefer using public transportation to work because it saves costs.
For those who are not office workers, unnecessary movements are no longer part of their schedule.

This in turn makes the road very light and free.
Unlike before when people spend long hours on the road before getting to their place of work, Lagosians spend less time in traffic these days.
The Reality
We spoke with a young banker who lives in the Bariga area of Lagos and works in the Island area.
According to him, he usually hits the road as early as 5:00 a.m if he must meet up with work.
However, in recent days, the banker revealed that he spends more time sleeping like a normal person should knowing that despite leaving home at 7:00 a.m, he would still be in the office on time.
A teacher also living in Bariga and teaching at a school in Morroco Street revealed that he spends less time on the road unlike before.
He added that many of his colleagues have even dumped their cars for cheaper transportation alternatives.
For now, at least, Lagosians are done complaining about traffic, however, they are still faced with the reality of the time.
