‘Game of Throne’ star Sophie Turner is nearing a deal to take on the lead role of Lara Croft in Amazon’s upcoming Tomb Raider TV series, sources have confirmed.
While the deal is not yet fully finalised, it is expected to close soon, marking Turner’s next major role as the iconic adventurer.
The show, which was greenlit by Amazon earlier this year, will be written and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge under her Amazon overall deal.
The series was first announced in January 2023.
Turner joins a growing list of high-profile actresses to portray the iconic video game character, following in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, who both previously took on the role in feature films.
