Burna Boy has set a new record as the first Nigerian artiste to surpass 1 billion Spotify streams on two separate albums.
This milestone follows his 2019 album African Giant reaching 1 billion streams, joining his sixth album, Love, Damini, which has achieved 1.3 billion streams.
Released in 2019, African Giant solidified Burna Boy’s status on the global music stage, coming shortly after the worldwide success of his 2018 hit single YE from the album Outside.
The album produced several hits, including On The Low and Gbona, both of which have achieved platinum certification in France.
With two albums now crossing the 1-billion-stream mark, Burna Boy continues to break barriers for Nigerian and African music, establishing himself as one of the continent’s leading musical exports.
