Social media critic, VeryDarkMan, is facing one of the toughest, but sweet moments of his life.
A court is asking him to make a far reaching decision about a previous claim he made.
A high court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State, has issued a ruling on Tuesday ordering VeryDarkMan to delete all defamatory videos targeting prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The court further directed VeryDarkMan to cease making any future comments about the Falana family.
This legal action follows after Falana revealed that he was resisting the urge to file a criminal complaint against the social media critic for making false accusations.
He had accused Falana of allegedly facilitating a pardon for popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.
The allegations surfaced when VeryDarkMan, on September 24, 2024 leaked a recorded voice call where Bobrisky claimed he had contacted singer Falz during his six-month jail term.
In response to these accusations, the Falana family swiftly took legal steps.
They sent a formal letter to him demanding a full retraction of his statements and an apology within 24 hours.
The letter indicated that the accusations were baseless and defamatory.
Also, the letter further prompts legal proceedings.
The court’s decision to order the removal of the videos and ban further commentary on the matter by VeryDarkMan is seen as a significant move in protecting the reputation of the Falana family.
