One of the outcries of Nigerians is that the office of the First Lady gulps some amount of money that should be channeled into some good ventures.
The President Bola Tinubu-led government has spent several significant public funds on decorations and related events for the First Lady.
Between March 15 and July 15, 2024, the President Bola Tinubu-led government made five payments totaling ₦250 million for various decorations.
These payments were made to Rock of Ages Total Events.

According to Sahara Reporters, on July 15, 2024, the State House paid ₦68.4 million for decorations related to Democracy Day.
Earlier, on July 5, the government spent ₦19.9 million to decorate a 300-seater hall at Sheraton Hotel.
Also, on May 24, 2024, the government paid ₦131.9 million for “full-scale decoration for State House events for First Lady programmes for women, youth, and children”.

Another payment of ₦22.5 million was made on May 17 for decorating the State House’s new banquet hall.
Also, costs were incurred for the organising of a feeding programme for people breaking their fast, and providing fresh flowers in the Commander-in-Chief’s office for three days.
Furthermore, on March 15, 2024, the government spent ₦7.5 million on decorating the State House banquet hall.
Concerns have been raised about Nigeria’s expenditure, with calls for greater prudence and accountability in managing the country’s limited resources.
Now, the government has continued to appeal to Nigerians to bear the hardship caused by subsidy removal.
While Nigerians grapple with this request, there are no visible efforts on the part of the government to cut cost.
