In Kano State, the hunger protest that began on August 1, shows no sign of ending, with demonstrations continuing firmly in different parts of the state.
The Nigerian Patriotic Front Movement, Northern Chapter, a participant in the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, has pledged to persist with the demonstration in Kano State.
The Secretary of the NPFM, Comrade Anas Adamu, revealed this information in Kano.
He said the decision by the group to continue with the protest was taken following the inability of President Bola Tinubu to address some of their “minimum demands” four days after the commencement of the nationwide protests.

“We are all aware that Nigeria is facing a major governance and economic crisis, which the government of President Asiwaju Bala Ahmed Tinubu has, in 15 months, exacerbated,” he said.

According to him, the President’s broadcast on Sunday morning was nothing but an empty speech because he did not address most of their minimum demands.
“We are totally not satisfied with all what the President said in his address to the nation.
“So, we will continue with the hunger protest because the only thing that is stopping us is the curfew.
“I’m assuring you that as soon as the curfew is over we shall resume our protests,” Adamu said.
“One of our minimum hunger protest demands is that the government reduces the pump price of petrol to its pre-Tinubu rates (₦160 to ₦200).
“Not even what is left of the middle class can afford the current crippling rates of between the present ₦720 to ₦1000+.
“We are law abiding citizens, so the state government imposed a curfew on the state that was why we suspended the protest,” he said.
