Chelsea is reportedly in negotiations with Napoli to secure a season-long loan for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
The potential deal includes an option to buy. In a related development, Romelu Lukaku is expected to move permanently to Napoli as part of the arrangement.
If the Lukaku transfer materializes, it will reunite the 31-year-old Belgian striker with Napoli’s new head coach, Antonio Conte.
The duo previously enjoyed a successful partnership at Inter Milan, working together for two seasons.
Lukaku spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Roma, another Serie A club, where he netted 21 goals in 47 matches across all competitions.
On the other hand, Osimhen has been a prolific scorer for Napoli, with 76 goals in 133 appearances since joining from Lille in July 2020.
Last season, he scored 15 goals as Napoli faced challenges in replicating their previous season’s success, which saw them clinch their first Scudetto since 1990.
