The social media space has been buzzing with reactions after videos showing the moment 103 Nigerians deported from the Republic of Turkey arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja emerged.
The citizens arrived on Friday, June 28, 2024, on a Southwind Airlines flight with registration number TC-GRB.
The 103 Nigerians arrived at the pilgrims’ wing of the airport at approximately 6:45 pm.
Upon their arrival, they were greeted by various government agencies.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), and military personnel, were all present to welcome them.
103 Nigerians Recounts Their Experience
However, it remains uncertain whether they had committed any offences in Turkey that led to their deportation.

The disgruntled deportees recounted their experiences.
According to them, they were not treated fairly in the European country.
They recounted how they were held in detention by the Turkish authorities for over 11 months before being deported.
They urged the Nigerian government to advocate for them and recover their belongings.
