Megan Thee Stallion is facing criticism from Megan Kanka’s family due to a lyric in her latest song “Hiss.”
The Houston rapper released the track last Friday, January 26, 2024, sparking a feud with Nicki Minaj. The lyrics seemingly target Nicki’s husband, convicted sex offender, Kenneth Petty.
“Megan’s Law,” named after Megan Kanka, mandates sharing information about registered sex offenders with the public.
Megan Kanka was murdered in 1994 at the age of seven by a neighbour who wasn’t legally required to disclose his status.
Richard Kanka, Megan’s father, condemned Megan Thee Stallion for using his daughter’s name, considering it highly offensive to their painful memories.
He admitted that he had not heard the song yet, but has read the lyrics, and does not approve of it.
Kanka also shared he found out about the song from one of his kids.
Everyone awaits Megan’s reaction to this disapproval.
