Wesley University Slashes Tuition Fee By 50%

Different universities in Nigeria have resumed for a new session, and the payment of the tuition fee rests on the shoulders of parents.

The elimination of fuel subsidy has brought both challenges and hardship to the masses. Inflation bites hard across Nigeria, and a lot of parents might not be able to afford tertiary institutions’ fees.

In fact, most universities have increased their fees, but one university is taking the opposite route.

Tuition Fee Reduction

The management of the Wesley University, located in Ondo town, Ondo State, has announced a 50% cut in tuition.

The institute claimed that the development was a result of its efforts to advance humankind.

This information was revealed on Monday in a statement provided to our correspondent by the university’s vice chancellor, Prof. Samuel Obeka.

He claims that the institution’s departments of Natural and Applied Sciences, Education, Agriculture, Finance and Investment, and Economics are eligible for a 50% tuition fee discount.

The VC explained that although the impacted programmes were extremely important to the development of Nigeria, students do not enroll in them in large numbers because of their “high tuition and assumed abstract or ambiguous nature”.

“The gesture was implemented to encourage parents and guardians to allow their children and wards to enjoy the benefits and endowments inherent in the institution.
