55-year-old held captive for 30 years regains freedom

A 55-year-old man has regained freedom after being held captive by his family for 30 years.

Kano State Police Command confirmed that officers had enabled his rescue in Rogo town in the state yesterday.

Pictures of the 55-year-old with feet bound to a log had gone viral on social media, sparking reactions from members of the public.

He was allegedly suffering some sort of mental illness.

Last Thursday, one Ahmed Aminu, 32-year-old, confined by his father, Aminu Farawa, in a garage for seven years was rescued by the police.

A 40-year-old, Ibrahim Lawan, held in captivity for 15 years was also rescued by the police in the state on Sunday.
