Tinubu Empowers MDAs With Resources And Accountability

During an interview on Sunrise Daily on Channels Television, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on policy and communication, Daniel Bwala, outlined the administration’s decisive approach to governance.

He emphasised that President Tinubu has provided Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) with both resources and autonomy to perform their duties.

However, he made it clear that the president will hold these institutions accountable for their performance.

To explain further, Bwala highlighted Tinubu’s leadership philosophy.

Rather than micromanaging, the president allows institutions to operate independently within their mandates.

“This administration respects established systems,” Bwala said, “and will ensure they deliver results without unnecessary interference.”

Addressing criticisms that the government has not been firm enough, Bwala rejected the claims outright.

Unlike previous administrations, he stated, President Tinubu avoids influencing critical decisions, instead trusting institutions to grow and function naturally.

He stressed that strong leadership does not mean bypassing processes but instead nurturing systems to develop organically and efficiently.

Transitioning to economic matters, Bwala discussed the 2025 budget and its focus on reducing inflation and strengthening the naira.

He commended the ₦3.89 trillion allocated to the Ministry of Defence to combat insecurity, pointing out its link to food security.

“By creating a safer environment, we can encourage farmers to return to their fields, boost food production, and reduce inflation,” he explained.

Finally, Bwala highlighted the administration’s efforts to ease economic burdens through initiatives like the ₦2.52 trillion allocated to education and the Nigeria Education Loan Fund.

“This ‘budget of restoration’ is about restoring hope and supporting Nigerians,” he concluded.

Through these measures, Bwala asserted, President Tinubu’s administration is paving the way for accountability, reform, and sustainable progress.
