Zayn Malik has postponed the U.S. leg of his debut headlining tour, citing the heartbreaking loss of former bandmate Liam Payne.
In a statement released on Instagram on Saturday, October 19, 2024, Zayn explained his decision to delay the Stairway to the Sky tour.
The U.S. shows, originally set to begin on October 23 in San Francisco, are being rescheduled for January 2025.
New dates will be announced soon, with tickets remaining valid for the rescheduled shows.
The Stairway to the Sky tour, produced by AEG and SJM, includes 11 dates across the U.K. and U.S., with Zayn initially planning to wrap up the performances in early December.
Payne tragically passed away on October 16 after reportedly falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 31-year-old’s cause of death was attributed to “multiple trauma” injuries, with the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office also citing evidence of alcohol and drug consumption in the musician’s hotel room.
