Zamfara NMA elects new officials
The  Zamfara State chapter of the  Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), on Saturday elected  Dr Mannir Bature, as chairman and other executive members to run its affairs for the next two years.
Bature and six out of eight officials of the association were returned unopposed at the election held in Gusau.
In his inaugural speech, Bature promised to utilise the association’s harmonious relationship with the state government to ensure better healthcare service delivery in the state.
“I promise to work with relevant stakeholders in the health sector in the state especially the state government to push for better healthcare service delivery to the people of Zamfara.

“I know that a lot has been achieved through this partnership in the past, which is why I want to build on this effort of our past leaders for better welfare and good working environment for our members as well as take service delivery to the next level,” he said.
Earlier, the outgoing state chairman of the association, Dr Kabiru Shinkafi, thanked the members for supporting his leadership and for their orderly manners during the election.
Members of the new executive are Dr Remigius Nwachukwu, Secretary, Dr Sanusi Bello, Vice Chairman, and Dr Ahmad Muhammad, Assistant Secretary.
Others are Dr Rabi Usman, Treasurer, Dr Murtala Salahu, Public Relation Officer, while Dr Kabiru Musa and Dr Iliyasu Ahmed became ex-officio 1 and ex-officio 2, respectively.
Dr Sunday Onazi, Head of Clinical Services and Training of the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau, administered the oath of office on the new executive.
