Popular Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun better known as Wizkid recently became the sixth Nigerian to be named the Best African Act at the 2021 MTV European Music Awards (EMAs).
The music award was held at the László Papp Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary on November 14, 2021. It was the first time that Hungary hosted the awards show.

Interestingly, Grammy award winner, Wizkid became the sixth Nigerian to become the Best African Act and also the seventh time a Nigerian would win the award as Burna Boy won the award in 2019.
When nominations were announced, Justin Bieber led with eight while Doja Cat and Lil Nas X were both tied, with six nominations.
