William Ruto has taken the oath of office and has been sworn in as the fifth president of Kenya
The inauguration of William Ruto took place on Tuesday at Nairobi’s 60,000-seat Kasarani Sports Centre which was packed with Ruto’s supporters resplendent in his party’s colors of yellow and green dancing and waving miniature national flags to the strains of a band.

William Kipchirchir Samoei Arap Ruto is a Kenyan politician who is the 11th and current deputy president of Kenya as well as the president-elect of the country.
William Ruto emerged as the winner of a fiercely contested presidential election in Kenya after defeating the ex-Prime Minister, Raila Odinga.
Williams was sworn in a week after the Supreme Court upheld the election that dashed the hopes of the nation’s most prominent political families and handed power to a man who began his career as a roadside chicken seller.

Ruto, before now had served as deputy president for the past 10 years, and he is taking over at a time of surging food and fuel prices, high unemployment, and rising public debt.
The ex-Prime Minister it was however gathered boycotted the inauguration on Tuesday.
