Victoria Monét has announced the deluxe edition of her debut album, ‘Jaguar II’, set to be released on 4 October, 2024.
The award-winning singer shared the news on Friday, September 13, 2024, through a promo clip posted on social media.
The clip opens with Monét watching a scene from “Alright” in a theatre. A voice from the audience can be heard saying, “Girl, you’re eating.”
After running out of popcorn, Monét heads to the concession stand, where she finds two workers caught in a romantic moment.
“I’m so sorry to interrupt what y’all got going on there, but I just wanted to order some more ‘Jaguar II’ popcorn, please?” she quips.
When asked what size she wants, Monét playfully replies, “I think this time I’m gonna go with the deluxe.”
‘Jaguar II’ Deluxe Edition
The ‘Jaguar II’ deluxe edition will include 10 additional songs, including “SOS (Sex on Sight)” featuring Usher, and “We Might Even Be Falling in Love,” a duet with Bryson Tiller, both of which were released earlier this year.
Speaking in an interview Monét revealed she was initially hesitant about releasing the deluxe version, explaining, “I thought the Grammy win would be a nice bow on the chapter, but I did promise fans a deluxe.
There are so many songs that I made.” When asked what fans could expect beyond “SOS (Sex on Sight),” she added, “After that, I’m letting people decide.
What do you want to hear more of? What should we focus on? Would you want a video for anything? I’m always recording.”
The original ‘Jaguar II’ album earned Monét the Best R&B Album award at the 66th Grammy Awards, where she also won Best New Artiste and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
