Popular social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), staged a dramatic protest on Monday.
The protest was outside the Abuja residence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The action was in response to Wike’s recent announcement that the FCT Administration would suspend 10% of the statutory allocation to area councils that fail to implement the newly proposed minimum wage for primary school teachers
This is a move that has sparked an ongoing teachers’ strike and left many pupils out of school.
In a bold and symbolic move, VDM gathered a group of schoolchildren, all dressed in their uniforms.
Also, he turned the minister’s gate into a makeshift classroom.
He conducted an open-air lesson.
He teaches the children the alphabet with politically charged phrases such as, “S for Suegbe, T for Tinubu, W for Wike,” which the children echoed after him.
VDM declared that since the affected pupils had been denied access to proper schooling, Wike’s gate would now serve as their new learning centre.
His actions were a direct critique of what he sees as political negligence and insensitivity to the plight of public-school students.
The protest has generated widespread conversation online.
Many applauded his unconventional approach to drawing attention to the education crisis in the FCT.
