Gradually, a social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, is becoming a regular visitor to the police. Every now and then, he gets arrested.
On Sunday, news spread that he has been rearrested again by the Nigerian police.
According to his lawyer, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, VeryDarkMan was taken into custody again.
It was for exposing an individual accused of defrauding a Nigerian living abroad.
However, in a statement shared on his X account on Sunday, Adeyanju revealed that “our client, @thatverydarkman, has just been arrested by the police under the orders of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad”.
He elaborated that VeryDarkMan’s latest arrest stems from his efforts to bring attention to fraudulent activities affecting Nigerians overseas.
Also, it was reported that the influencer was arrested on the orders of the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Benneth Igwe.
Afterwards, it was reported that he had granted bail.
The blogger was released from police custody after meeting his bail conditions.
