
American R&B star Chris Brown has been granted bail set at £5 million in a UK court.
This follows charges of grievous bodily harm with intent related to an alleged nightclub assault in London.
Although, the 36-year-old singer did not appear in court, Judge Tony Baumgartner of Southwark Crown Court ruled on Wednesday that Chris Brown can remain free as long as he pays the bail amount and abides by strict conditions.
These include surrendering his passport unless travelling, residing at a specified address, avoiding contact with the alleged victim—Abraham Diah
Also, staying away from the Hanover Square nightclub where the incident reportedly occurred.
The alleged assault took place on February 19, 2023.
It involves the victim being struck with a bottle and then allegedly pursued, punched, and kicked.
Chris Brown was arrested on May 13 at a luxury hotel in Manchester after flying into the UK by private jet.
Despite the serious charges, Chris Brown is permitted to continue his global tour, which kicks off on June 8 in Amsterdam.
However, if he fails to return for his UK performances starting June 15, the full bail amount will be forfeited.

Chris Brown’s co-defendant, 38-year-old U.S. citizen Omololu Akinlolu, faces the same charge.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court again on June 20.
