President Tinubu Appoints MKO Abiola’s Son

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  recognising the value of linguistic and diplomatic expertise, has appointed Jami’u Abiola as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Linguistics and Foreign Matters.

The announcement, made official through a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, signifies the administration’s commitment to strengthening communication and collaboration at both national and international levels.

The SGF’s statement, signed by Mr Segun Imohiosen, a spokesman for the agency, noted that “this appointment is in line with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act 2008, as amended.

“It underscores the President’s focus on leveraging specialised expertise to achieve his administration’s goals”.

Jami’u Abiola, prior to this role, served as the Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties in the Office of the Vice President.

President Tinubu expressed his confidence in the appointee’s abilities, stating that“Jami’u’s extensive knowledge and diplomatic skills will be critical in addressing both local and international challenges.

“His collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs will further enhance Nigeria’s role on the global stage.”

The President further charged Abiola with a clear directive: “Bring your wealth of experience to bear, fostering dialogue and understanding across all platforms.

“This administration relies on your capacity to unify through language and diplomacy”.

This strategic move highlights the administration’s focus on cultural inclusivity and effective international engagement, paving the way for a more interconnected and united Nigeria.
