Gentleman Mike Ejeagha was born in the early 1930s in Imezi-Owa, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria.
Furthermore, his upbringing in this culturally rich environment played a significant role in shaping his musical career.
Ejeagha is renowned for his unique style of highlife music, which blends traditional Igbo folk tales with melodious tunes.
Also, his music often features storytelling, which preserves the culture and traditions of the Igbo people.
Some of his well-known songs include “Uwa Mgbede Ka Mma,” “Igba Ndi Eze,” and “Aka N’Anu Nwa.”
These tracks are celebrated for their rich lyrical content and cultural relevance.
Ejeagha formed his own band, Mike Ejeagha and the Merry-makers.
His rise to fame began when the late Atu Ona, then Controller of the Nigerian Broadcasting Service (NBS), invited him for an audition.
