On Saturday, a tragic incident unfolded in Anambra State, leading to the death of a young youth.
A police office attached to the Otuocha Area Command in Anambra East Local Government Area had engaged with in a dispute with the victim over ₦100 at a checkpoint.
In the heat of the argument, the trigger happy officer shot and killed the young man.
A witness from Aguleri in the same local government area, who shared a distressing video of the victim’s body, identified the police squad involved, reportedly led by an officer named Onyebuchi.
This tragic events has sparked outrage in the community, with local youths staging protests to condemn the police action.

Details of the dispute remain unclear, as it is uncertain whether the disagreement involved a demand for a ₦100 bribe or a balance for an amount already paid.
However, police authorities have confirmed the shooting.
Meanwhile, in response to media inquiries, Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the command was fully aware of the incident and has taken appropriate action.
“The Police Officer involved has been identified as Inspector Sani Suleiman.
“He has been disarmed and detained for further investigations and internal disciplinarian procedures,” Ikenga said.
