The MTV Europe Music Awards returned with star-studded honours, celebrating the top performers who defined the past year in music.
Leading the night, Taylor Swift won four of the seven awards for which she was nominated including Best Artist and Best Video for her duet “Fortnight” with Post Malone.
She thus became the first artiste to win Best Artist three times, surpassing Shawn Mendes twice.
In other major categories, Ariana Grande was awarded Best Pop, Eminem claimed Best Hip-Hop, and Tyla won Best R&B.
Best Song went to Sabrina Carpenter’s summer anthem, “Espresso,” beating other hits like Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’Em,” and Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends.”
Busta Rhymes took home the prestigious Global Icon award for his influential career, while the Pet Shop Boys were recognised as Pop Pioneers.
The night featured captivating performances by Shawn Mendes, Raye, and Tyla.
