Head Coach Randy Waldrum has selected a strong team, led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and forward Asisat Oshoala to represent Nigeria at the Paris 2024 Olympic games.
The squad also includes defenders Osinachi Ohale, Oluwatosin Demehin, and Michelle Alozie, midfielders Deborah Abiodun, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, and Toni Payne, and forwards Esther Okoronkwo, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Uchenna Kanu.
The squad will depart for a two-week training camp in Sevilla, Spain before heading to France for the tournament
The Super Falcons, making their first appearance at the Olympics since Beijing 2008, are grouped with former gold medalists Brazil and Japan, as well world champions Spain.
The Super Falcons qualified for the Olympics by defeating South Africa’s Banyana Banyana 1-0, with Ajibade scoring the winning goal from the penalty spot.
