Steve Harvey’s life story is set to hit the big screen as Objectively Good Media (OGM) develops ‘Seventy-Two’, an authorized biopic focusing on the comedian, actor, and TV presenter.
The film will delve into a pivotal 72-hour period before Harvey’s career-defining performance at the Apollo Theatre in 1993.
‘Seventy-Two’ aims to give audiences an intimate look at the perseverance and challenges that marked Harvey’s journey.
At 26, Harvey left a stable sales job to chase his dream of becoming a comedian, facing numerous hurdles along the way.
By age 36, as he prepared for his performance at the Apollo, he was battling self-doubt and personal struggles.
Harvey said, “I’ve been hesitant to make a movie about my life until I read the pitch for ‘Seventy-Two’.”
“It focuses on one of the most difficult moments in my journey and career, and shows the world that hope is never truly lost. Wait until you see what we do with this.”
