Nigerian singer Spyro has addressed the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests in Nigeria.
He emphasises that they’re need for concrete actions rather than mere prayers.
On August 1, 2024, Spyro took to Instagram to urge Nigerians to use their platforms to actively support the protests.
His post highlighted the importance of taking tangible steps.
He said: “I wish men of God could speak up for the people now as they did in days of old… This is not a time to PRAY, it is a time to ACT. Even the Bible says FAITH without WORKS is dead.
In the Bible, men of God were pivotal in challenging governments and liberating people. MOSES, your people need you now.”
Spyro also expressed his decision to refrain from posting entertainment content during this critical period.
Furthermore, he calls it “insensitive” given the current national crisis.
Also, he conveyed that the situation deeply affects him.
However, he urged everyone with a platform to speak out and contribute to the cause.
Furthermore, he hopes that this collective effort will prompt the government to recognise the widespread discontent.
Also, take meaningful action to address the issues at hand.
“I particularly feel the pain of the average person, and I refuse to remain silent,” Spyro said.
“I am calling on everyone with a platform to join in speaking up.
I hope the government will see our collective tears and take genuine steps toward improving the situation.
