Popular TikTok sensation, Peller, has revealed that creating comedy skits on Instagram is no longer financially rewarding for most content creators.
He said this during a recent live session with fans.
The 20-year-old lamented the decline in profitability on Instagram.
He attributed it to what he described as “unfavourable policies” that have pushed many creators to seek better opportunities elsewhere particularly on TikTok.
“Instagram no longer pays,” he stated bluntly.
“Many content creators have left the platform. Hunger is affecting everybody. That’s why we’re all on TikTok now, doing live videos. When last did you even see a funny Instagram skit? There’s a reason for that — it doesn’t pay anymore.”
Peller explained that TikTok’s live streaming and monetisation tools have made it a more attractive platform.
This especially for creators looking to earn directly from their content.

His comments reflect a growing trend among Nigerian digital creators who are abandoning Instagram’s less rewarding structure in favour of platforms that offer real-time income and broader audience engagement.
