Simon Guobadia, the estranged husband of Atlanta star, Porsha Williams, has reportedly been deported to Nigeria
This follows his release from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)custody.
ICE, a federal agency tasked with enforcing immigration laws, has ramped up detentions and deportations in recent years.
Simon Guobadia, a Nigerian-born businessman has resided in the United States for over four decades, was caught in this wave.
Simon Guobadia gained public attention in November 2022 after his high-profile wedding to Porsha Williams.
Before that, he had been married to Falynn Pina, a fellow reality star and friend of Williams , a fact that added drama to the storyline on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
However, their relationship began to unravel by early 2024, culminating in Williams filing for divorce in February.
Simon Guobadia’s immigration status became public in February when he was detained by ICE.
Also, his legal troubles further delayed his ongoing divorce proceedings.
This causes him to miss a scheduled court hearing on 30 April due to his detention status.
His deportation was confirmed by US Weekly, citing Tai Savet, a close friend and business associate.
Savet revealed that the 61-year-old businessman had been placed on a flight back to Nigeria a few days ago and was in “good spirits” despite the harsh experience

Guobadia’s deportation follows closely on the heels of the voluntary departure of TikTok sensation Khaby Lame, who also faced ICE scrutiny.
