The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Sylvester Nwakuche as Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Centre.
His confirmation followed the presentation of a report by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Interior, Adams Oshiomhole.
According to reports, in his presentation, Senator Oshiomhole said the nominee was screened and found suitable for the job based on his qualifications and the fact that no petition was received questioning his competence.

In a remark, President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, congratulated Nwakuche and urged him to bring to an end incidents of jail breaks across the country.
