Music mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs, will remain behind bars until his sentencing in October after a U.S. judge denied his request for bail.

The 55-year-old rapper and entrepreneur was found guilty on Wednesday by a New York jury on charges of transporting individuals for prostitution.

He was, however, acquitted of more serious allegations, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

Diddy’s legal team had argued for a $1 million bail.

He stated that he was not a flight risk

Also, he needed to care for his twin daughters, whose mother, Kim Porter, passed away in 2018.

Despite these arguments, Judge Arun Subramanian sided with federal prosecutors who labelled the music icon as a danger to the community.

The judge highlighted Combs’ violent past.

He cited a widely circulated video of him physically assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another disturbing incident involving a woman referred to as “Jane”

In his ruling, Subramanian stated that Diddy had demonstrated a “clear disregard for the law”

Also, he had failed to prove he no longer posed a threat to others.

Combs has been held at a federal jail in Brooklyn since his arrest in 2024.

He now faces up to 10 years in prison for the prostitution-related conviction.

His legal troubles began after more than 120 individuals, including a minor, came forward with various allegations of abuse and misconduct.
