The protesters marching against bad governance in the country were just assembling when security agents went after them and arrested three.

One of the protesters, Yahaya Abdullahi, said the security agents fired teargas at them.

He said: “Our people were just coming out and the police and other security agents started tear-gassing us and arrested some of our people, we know of three for now.”

This development comes hours after one of the leaders of the ongoing #Endbadgovernance protests in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Micheal Lenin, was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

According to reports Lenin was arrested around 2 am on Monday at his residence in the Apo area of the nation’s capital city by DSS operatives.

Lagos

Protesters in Lagos State calling for an end to bad governance, were chased off the streets by thugs in Alausa, the seat of government in the State.

However, around 12 midday, hoodlums descended on them with sticks, machetes and different weapons.

The protesters fled in different directions as their assailants closed in.

Security operatives who were on ground reportedly looked away while the protesters ran for cover.

Kaduna

Some demonstrators who are part of the #EndBadGovernance protests seized an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), belonging to the Nigeria Police Force.

The Police APC was seized by protesting youths in Kaduna State.

While the circumstances leading to the takeover of the Police vehicle remain unclear, several videos which have gone viral on social media show the youths gleefully driving the car along the streets.

The protesters, including children, mounted on the Nigeria Police Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) Vehicle during the protest march.

Also, some individuals posing as protesters reportedly caused damage to a branch of a modern bank in Tudun Wada, Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Monday.

The spokesperson for the State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, verified this information during a phone call with Channels Television.

He stated that the perpetrators broke into the bank, stealing valuables and damaging vehicles in the premises.

Bauchi

Meanwhile, in Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed, has declared a 24-hour curfew in the Katagum Local Government Area of the state.

The governor regretted the series of violent incidents, including the destruction of public property, theft, and victimization in the area.

In response, the governor issued a directive communicated in a statement released to journalists in Bauchi on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim.

A security operative has been captured gunning down a protester in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi.

The young man in a video was seen lying on the ground as two or three persons hit him repeatedly.

Shortly after, his killer, who was standing beside a white Toyota Hilux van belonging to security operatives, moved closer.

After hitting him twice, the officer pointed his rifle directly at the victim and immediately pulled the trigger.

The crowd at the scene yelled as the policeman walked away without looking back.
