Nigerian rapper, Erhiga Agarivbie, popularly known as Erigga, has taken to his social media handle to react following a mockery statement about the rap music genre by his colleague, Wizkid.

Recall that the social media space was set ablaze after Wizkid, in an interview with 10 magazines revealed that he doesn’t listen to rap music because it is dead and boring.

The Grammy awards winner insisted that Afrobeats is the new pop, stressing he has sold two million copies of one of his songs in America.

According to the singer, listening to rap is tiring because the artists often make repetition of beats and flows.

Reacting to the statement, Nigerian rappers such as Blaqbonez, Oladips, MI Abaga, and many others expressed displeasure over the statement.

Taking to his Snapchat, Wizkid described Oladips and others who are criticizing him over the ‘rap is dead’ comment’ as broke boys.

According to the ‘Ojulegba’ crooner, he was not talking about other upcoming rappers because they aren’t even rappers.

He further stated that Nasty C, Sarkodie, and Black Sheriff are the only rappers in Africa.

Still making a mockery of Nigerian rappers, the singer advised them to keep sending their rap videos, as he would be watching and might probably consider helping them.

Reacting to the post, Erigga shared screenshots of Wizkid’s posts, questioning why he is attempting to kill other people’s dreams when his dream has come true.

He noted that many rappers are using the genre of music to feed their families, nevertheless, he is thankful for his life.
