Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has had a tumultuous relationship with the law that has received a lot of media attention
His encounters with the law have been as significant as his music career, many say his name is synonymous with his trouble.
The musician recently got into trouble for not making the final ₦14 million loan payment after purchasing a ₦27 million G-Wagon from an auto dealer.
He is famous for his first hit song “Zazoo Zehh” with Olamide and Poco Lee and his recent feature with UK rapper Skepta, ”Tony Montana”.
The singer’s public behavior often matched his street musical style.
Early on, Portable often made headlines for fights at shows and arguments with other artists,
These incidents were mostly minor and didn’t lead to major legal trouble.
Legal Troubles
However, in March 2022, Portable was charged with stealing an iPhone and a tricycle.
Although he was taken into custody by the police, he was never charged or put on trial.
Also, Portable nearly faced legal trouble after he threatened to harm his fellow Headies award nominees if he didn’t win.
In response, the Headies warned him to stop making such statements or they would report him to the police.
