
The Nigerian entertainment industry is in mourning following the passing of popular Nollywood actress, model, and body positivity advocate Monalisa Stephen.
The actress reportedly died in Lagos on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
This after battling health complications related to low blood sugar and internal bleeding.
Her death was officially confirmed on Wednesday by Seun Oloketuyi, CEO of Best of Nollywood (BON), through a heartfelt post on his verified Instagram account.
Also, the announcement revealed that Monalisa’s immediate younger sister had confirmed the sad news.
“Brand influencer Monalisa Ayobami Stephen is dead. She died yesterday in Lagos after losing the fight against low sugar and internal bleeding. Her immediate younger sister confirmed the death of this hardworking and beautiful soul,” the post read.
She is known for her fearless advocacy for body confidence, mental health awareness, and self-love.
