Police nabs 3 suspected kidnappers
*Rescues 27 days teenage girl
Operatives of the Anambra state police command has arrested three suspected kidnappers who kidnapped a teenager and held her hostage for 27 days.
The suspects identified as: Onyemechi Aniobi aged 23 years, Elochukwu Okudo aged 25 years and Pauline Elechi aged 24 years were trailed and arrested by Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) at a their hideout in Ogidi on 8th February 2020 at about 5:30 pm.
iBrandTV learned that the suspects had on the 12th of January 2020 kidnapped the 14 year old girl in Onitsha and took her to an undisclosed location.
Consequently, on 30th January 2020 the suspects contacted the victim’s mother through SMS and demanded for ransom of ten million Naira (N10,000,000) which was later reduced downward after much pleading by the mother.
The suspects equally sent a first Bank account number 3120904371 bearing one John Blessing to the victim’s parent to deposit the ransom.
It was gathered that the suspects raped and defiled the victim severally while she was in their custody.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson Anambra State Police Command SP Haruna Mohammed, said “the arrest is another break through by the Command to rid the state of criminals” .
“The victim who was held hostage for twenty Seven (27) days and allegedly raped severally by the suspects was rescued by the Police and taken to the hospital for medical Examination. The
case is still under investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution please, ” he added.
