The brutal beheading of an elderly couple, Mr. Jacob Udo and his wife, Mrs. Comfort Udo, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, has left a dent on the state police command and the force is not willing to let it slide.
As we speak, the force has launched a full scale investigation into the tragic incident.
The latest update was shared by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, via a statement on Thursday.
In the statement, titled “Re: The Alleged Murder of a Couple in Bende,” the police confirmed the horrific incident, noting that the bodies of the victims had been deposited in the mortuary.

She stated: “Yes, we received the report yesterday at Bende Divisional Headquarters.
The crime scene has been visited, exhibits recovered, and the bodies deposited at the mortuary. Investigation is ongoing.”
The couple, both traders, were beheaded in their home in Etiti Ulo, Bende, on Tuesday night by yet-to-be-identified attackers.
