President Bola Tinubu arrived in Beijing, China, on Sunday, September 1, for a state visit.

His trip was set to include crucial meetings and high-profile events, all aimed at deepening Nigeria-China relations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

He will also attend the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit, themed “Joining Hands to Advance Modernisation and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future.”

Dada Olusegun, Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, shared the news on X.com.

His post read: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrives in Beijing for his official state visit to China.

“He will meet with President Xi Jinping and hold meetings with Chinese business leaders on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation”.

President Tinubu was greeted by several officials, including Minister of Works David Umahi, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun.

Also, welcoming the President are the Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, along with other Nigerian and Chinese government representatives.

Tinubu’s Itinerary 

Earlier reports indicated that President Xi Jinping had invited Tinubu to visit China in September.

Also, the visit aims to strengthen economic collaboration and attract investments to Nigeria.

Tinubu’s itinerary includes visits to major Chinese companies like Huawei Technologies and China Railway and Construction Corporation.

He hopes to accelerate the completion of the Ibadan-Abuja segment of the Lagos-Kano rail project.

Additionally, he will meet with CEOs of 10 top Chinese corporations, which manage over $3 trillion in assets across various sectors.

This including ICT, oil and gas, aluminum production, seaport development, finance, and satellite technology.
