The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Ganduje, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and other political bigwigs turned up as Laila, daughter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, tied the knot with her partner, Saleh Maitala.
The wedding ceremony, which was held at the National Mosque in Abuja took place on Friday, and was graced by prominent political figures.
Prior to the ceremony, specifically on Thursday, August 22, Atiku received a distinguished delegation at his residence in Asokoro.
The delegation, headed by Nasiru El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, included family members of Kashim Imam.
Basically, they visited Atiku to formally seek the hand of his daughter, Hafsat Atiku Abubakar, in marriage.
Among the dignitaries were the National Chairman of the ruling Party All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje; Leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Also present were former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar; former governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido; and acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Iliya Damagum.
Atiku shared the good news on X.
Atiku’s post reflects the joy of every father.
The former VP wrote: “The joy of giving away a daughter in marriage supported by family and friends is priceless.
“I wish Laila and her husband, Saleh Maitala, a blessed marriage.
My gratitude also goes to all the dignitaries, associates, and friends who honoured my family with their presence at the wedding Fatiha in Abuja today.”
