Peter Obi has expressed his displeasure about the terrorism in the North. He called for the exposure of individuals of those enabling terrorists in the country.
The 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi has reacted strongly to Governor Babagana Zulum’s recent revelation that Boko Haram informants and collaborators may be embedded within Nigeria’s political and security structures.
Describing the allegation as “devastating,” Obi said it confirms long-held fears of internal betrayal contributing to the country’s prolonged insecurity.
In addition, he called for the immediate identification, exposure, and prosecution of anyone aiding or protecting terrorists, regardless of their position.
Furthermore, Obi warned that Nigeria cannot defeat terrorism while “traitors sit in the corridors of power” and criticise government silence and inaction on such grave matters.
He praised Governor Zulum for speaking out and urged authorities to investigate the claims with urgency and seriousness.
Prior to this time, the concerned governor lamented that about 20,000 people have departed Marte for Dikwa which is a major security threat as allowing them to stay in the camp makes most of the younger ones become vulnerable to recruitment by the insurgents.
According to Zulum, Marte Local Government which comprises over 300 towns and villages, now has only one standing.
