During the 2021/22 season, the Czech Republic international was in red-hot form, scoring 24 goals in 27 Bundesliga games to help Leverkusen qualify for the Champions League with a third-place finish.

He also made a strong showing at Euro 2020, scoring five goals for a Czech team that finally finished in the quarter-finals.

“I really feel happy here,” Schick said of his new contract, “but above all, our team represents a promise for the future.” With these guys, it’s a lot of fun, and we really want to rip something up. A nice next step would be to qualify for the Champions League.
