The drama began when a video surfaced online showing a man who looked like Pastor Adefarasin talking to a content creator near a car.
Some people who saw the video claimed the pastor was holding a gun.

During his church service on Sunday, June 8, 2025, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the issue publicly.
He explained that he did not have a firearm and did not point anything at anyone.
He said the item in his hand was not a weapon and that people were spreading false information just to get attention or views online.
“I don’t have a gun licence, I don’t carry a gun, and I did not point a gun at anyone,” he said.
“I was shocked, I was hurt, but I know God is my defender.”
He told his congregation that the video had been edited and shared in a way that made it look worse than it really was.
He described it as “clickbait” and said it was simply meant to cause confusion and attract views.
Pastor Adefarasin also shared how the incident made him feel.
He said false claims upset him but encouraged everyone to be careful about believing everything they see on social media.
He reminded the public that God says, “Vengeance is mine,” and that he has left the matter in God’s hands.
