Following the reconstitution of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Board by President Muhammadu Buhari, Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, has on Saturday, expressed its reservation about the development
This is coming even as the forum said that the President should rejig the lopsided management structure.
In a statement made available to iBrandTV by the National Publicity Secretary of the South-South forum, Him Ken Robinson, it stated that, “PANDEF welcomes the Board of the NNPC, by President Buhari with cautious considerations.
“The move by Buhari could be considered as mere scratching of the surface of the problem.
“The major concern of the Niger Delta region is the skewed composition of the executive management of the NNPC, and appointment of chief executives of the corporation’s subsidiaries.
“It is simply abhorrent that the Group Managing Director, GMD, the Chief Finance Officer, Finance & Account, the Corporate Secretary/Legal Adviser to the Corporation, and Chief Executives of virtually all strategic divisions and subsidiaries of the NNPC are persons from the Northern zones of the country,” the statement reads in part.
