In a recent video on TVC, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu spoke openly about Nigeria’s ongoing economic struggles.

He acknowledged the real hardships people are facing, emphasising the challenges workers endure daily.

‘People Are Suffering’

Kalu leads a company with around 10,000 employees.

He highlighted the importance of ensuring financial stability within his organisation.

“People are suffering,” Kalu admitted, as he stressed the need to meet payroll despite the difficult times.

He explained that tough decisions were needed in hard times but insisted that the priority would remain to pay workers on time.

Kalu also shared the financial burden of operating a private jet.

The fuel costs alone can reach between $10,000 to $20,000 per flight.

In light of these expenses, he made the personal decision to stop using his jet and asked his senior team members to fly commercially instead.

“I have to make my own sacrifices,” he explained, adding that it wasn’t about pleasing the government, but doing what’s best for the company.

Kalu hopes to save money by cutting back on private travel.

His aim is to support employees in Nigeria and West Africa.
