In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Omowunmi firmly stated that although she shares two children with Ogungbe, they were never legally married or engaged.

She also made a startling revelation,  that Segun never met her family throughout the course of their relationship.

Let me just set the record straight — Segun Ogungbe and I were never married or engaged. We just have kids,” she said.
“He never met any of my family members, apart from a friend of my sibling who lives in Lagos. Even Segun himself can confirm this.”

The actress’s comments come nearly two years after her highly publicised separation from Ogungbe in 2023

The drama intensified when Omowunmi did not acknowledge Segun’s presence at her mother’s burial, a move that drew heavy criticism from netizens.

Also, the situation was further complicated by her public appreciation of MC Oluomo , the Lagos NURTW Chairman

His presence at the funeral led to widespread speculation about a romantic relationship.

In response, Omowunmi took to Instagram to deny any romantic involvement with MC Oluomo.

The intense media scrutiny and online trolling eventually prompted her to take a break from the spotlight and relocate abroad.

Now, as she makes a slow return to public life, Omowunmi has asked the public to show empathy and stop dragging her over past decisions.

“I just want peace. People should stop trolling me. My truth is simple — we were never husband and wife.”
