The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course will commence nationwide on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
The NYSC confirmed this through a countdown column on its official website titled “Countdown to the Start of the 2025 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course.”
Registration for all prospective corps members begins the same day and will close by midnight on Friday, June 13.
The official swearing-in ceremony is also scheduled for Friday, June 13, while the orientation programme will end on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
All prospective corps members are expected to report to the orientation camps indicated on their call-up letters.
Those trained outside Nigeria must present their international passports alongside the original versions of all previously uploaded documents.
The NYSC has advised all corps members to read their call-up letters carefully and strictly follow the instructions provided.
In light of rising security concerns, the NYSC strongly encourages the use of transport companies that operate from government-approved motor parks.
The agency warns against night travel and urges corps members to stop and spend the night at military barracks, police stations, NYSC secretariats, or nearby corps lodges if it gets late during their journey.
NYSC Required Documents
During registration at the camps, certain documents are required. These include:
• Original copy of the call-up letter (either issued by the institution or printed online)
• Original degree certificate or statement of result
• A valid school identification card
• A certificate of medical fitness issued by a government or military hospital, stamped by the Nigeria Medical Association
Graduates in regulated professionssuch as medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and physiotherapy must provide proof of registration with their professional bodies.
Additionally, graduates of polytechnics and monotechnics are required to present their National Diploma certificates.
The NYSC has stated that any attempt to present fake credentials will result in arrest, prosecution, and disqualification from the programme.
In the event of a lost call-up letter, the corps member must obtain a police report and a sworn affidavit. Those who received their call-up letters from their institutions must return to the same institution for a new one.
Others who printed theirs online can simply reprint from the NYSC portal.
Special arrangements exist for married, pregnant, and nursing mothers posted to states different from where their husbands reside.
These individuals may report to the camp in their current state of residence but must present proof of marriage, a valid ID belonging to the husband, and documents confirming the husband’s place of residence.
The NYSC Act also warns that anyone who refuses to report for service or tries to join the scheme illegally will face prosecution under the law.
As the orientation course approaches, all prospective corps members are advised to prepare properly, travel safely, and ensure all documents are complete.
The NYSC stressed that the orientation programme is a vital part of national integration and the beginning of a successful service year.
