1. Dr. Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi, was the first-class traditional ruler (Emir) of Dutse, the capital city of Jigawa State in the northwestern part of Nigeria. He was also the Chancellor of Sokoto State University.
2. Before ascending to the throne, Dr. Sanusi had extensive experience in agricultural consultancy and the management of complex industrial projects across continents.
3. Emir Sanusi obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ohio University, USA, in 1972 and 1974, respectively, and another master’s degree from Bradford University, UK, in 1977.
4.  He was elected a member of Nigeria’s Constituent Assembly in 1989 and has been awarded the prestigious national honor of Commander of the Order of Niger, CON.
5. Dr. Muhammad Sanusi was appointed Emir of Dutse by the late Colonel Ibrahim Aliyu’s military administration in 1995, following the death of his father, Muhammad Sanusi.
