
Nollywood icon, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, fondly known as Omosexy, has added a significant milestone to her illustrious career by stepping into the role of director.
With over 300 films to her name as an actress, the award-winning star has now made her directorial debut with the powerful drama, Mother’s Love.
Co-produced alongside Tyna Obahiagbon, Mother’s Love delves into deeply emotional themes such as maternal sacrifice and redemption.
Also, the quiet but resilient strength of women confronting life’s toughest battles.
Speaking about her transition, Omotola Jalade shared, “I’ve always believed in the power of African stories told by Africans, and after years in front of the lens, I felt compelled to shape narratives from the director’s chair”.
The 47-year-old actress and mother of four expressed a personal connection to the project.
“Mother’s Love is a story close to my heart, and I’m proud to launch this next phase of my career with a film that centres our voices and lived realities.”
The movie was shot in Nigeria.
Also, the film showcases a talented cast including Ifeanyi Kalu, Noray Nehita, Olumide Oworu, Lilian Afegbai, and Baba Rex.
