
Nollywood actress-turned-sailor, Grace Bassey, has officially announced her new status as a citizen of the United States.
This marks a major personal and professional transformation.
The 33-year-old former movie star took to Instagram to share the life-changing update.
She has successfully completed the rigorous U.S. Navy boot camp and taken the oath of American citizenship.
Dressed proudly in her Navy uniform, Grace Bassey posted a photo of herself and expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, her family, and her supporters for standing by her through what she described as a difficult but fulfilling journey.
“Last week, I graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States,” she wrote. “Nigeria raised me. America challenged me. I stand today stronger and more determined than ever. Thank you to everyone who believed in me. This is just the beginning. In honor of my late father – Naval CDR Asido Bassey Effah.“

Grace was previously known in Nollywood as Belinda Effah, legally changed her name to Grace Bassey in 2021.
