
Nigerian singer, John Njenga-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has firmly denied claims that he divorced his wife, Precious Hassanity, due to her alleged mockery of his music career.
The speculation emerged after an X (formerly Twitter) user alleged that the singer parted ways with his wife because she failed to defend him against online critics.
He suggested that her silence was unbecoming of a supportive spouse.
Also, the viral post quickly sparked conversations online
This prompted Skales to publicly address the rumour.
In a strong rebuttal, Skales described the report as “false” and “evil”.
Also, he condemned the blog responsible for the misinformation.
Furthermore, he maintained that at no point did he make such a statement or insinuate anything of the sort about his marriage.
“This is really evil of you that you would cook up such a story. This is not fair. I have never made such a statement and this is false. Please stop spreading lies,” the singer wrote in a post.
He expresses disappointment over the damage false narratives can cause.
In a related development, award-winning actress and filmmaker, Adunni Ade, has also spoken out against falsehoods being peddled in her name.
